Professor El Shibly holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Kent and trained at Harvard Law School and the Harvard Kennedy School. He has led food-security, trade, and investment strategies at the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), and the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID), and has served as Vice Chancellor of Omdurman Ahlia University and Principal of the University of Medical Sciences and Technology.
